Express patients DO NOT have to wait for the kiosk to be available to check-in. There are two ways an express patient can check-in:
- Checking in with their phone number at the kiosk
- Updating the patient’s status directly in the queue manager (see below).
When an Express patient enters the lab, they can be identified by the green “Express” next to their name in the queue manager (see image below).
If there is a long line for the Kiosk, and an Express patient enters the lab, the phlebotomist may call the patient up directly to their desk and update a patient’s status through the queue manager by:
- Clicking on the Express patient in the Active Queue
- Clicking the dropdown under “Status” within the patient modal (see image below)
- Setting the patient’s status to “Arrived.”
- The phlebotomist can then register the patient and skip the line for the kiosk.
